The Morning Offering
As a result of this weeks prayer & fasting, morning prayer has been birthed at Calvary Corvallis. We will be calling this time “The Morning Offering.” This is taken from the Old Testament morning & evening burnt offerings. We will be meeting Monday through Friday from 6-7AM for morning worship & prayer in the Prayer Chapel.
I believe that there is NOT doubt in any of our minds that God led us as a church to FAST & PRAY!
I believe that FASTING & PRAYER is a WELL that has been unclogged in this leadership & church (In my life!)
I am sensing that yearly we are to call our leadership and body to a week of FASTING & PRAYER. And I believe that next year we will see even a greater percentage of both our leaders & congregation coming on board with a week long fast! I am asking God to even now be placing the seed in your hearts… for all of us as a church… fasting for the full week next year!
With that said… I also believe that having fasted for the week this year that God has made it much more doable for us to have the strength to fast for either a meal in our week or a day in our month making us a church that regularly fasts like Jesus taught us to do as his disciples (Mt 17:21 Mt. 6:16)
This week we received a very strong prophetic WORD that the enemy would have loved to see us plant a flag after the week of fasting and say “We did it!” Placing a book end at the end of the week! That there was a temptation that we would have ceased fasting & praying as a church with the fasting & praying now behind us! BUT GOD!!!!
Fasting & prayer is not behind us but is to continue! We have gained ground this week! And we are to continue to believe God for more…NOT only holding the ground we have taken but believing God for more ground!
We have also recognized that where the Prayer Meeting was once tearing down Satan’s strongholds weekly! We have entered a new season of warfare tearing down & thwarting the schemes of the enemy daily … Opening the door for greater things to be done in this city & valley!
FIRST QUESTION
Is there a day of the week that you could join us weekly for morning prayer? We saw a great turnout from our body this week… Please pray about a day in your week that you might join us weekly for morning prayer!
SECOND QUESTION
Would you pray about the fasting continuing as a way of life! Choosing a meal in your week OR a day in your month … to begin regularly FASTING! (Encouraging others among the people of God to join with you that meal OR day!)
May the moving of His Spirit continue to fan our heart to a full flame for His Glory!
