Solomon’s Porch High School Ministry
Bio:
I grew up on a large cattle ranch in Klamath Falls, Oregon where I learned to “rope and ride.” In high school I understood how personal a relationship with the risen Jesus could be, so I gave my life completely to Him. I began a Bible study in high school that lasted for three years until I graduated. I then went to the School of Ministry where God equipped me more to be an ambassador for Him.
During School of Ministry my father and best friend had a stroke which paralyzed the entire left side of his body including swallowing reflexes and other motor skills. I felt that the place of ministry at that point was along side of my dad aiding in his rehabilitation. After four months and great improvement, he had another stroke which sent him into a four day coma until Jesus called dad home to ultimate healing. I still praise God that he was able to use me to share the gospel at my father’s memorial where many accepted the free gift of salvation.
After a few months of welding school, God called me to be the High School Pastor here at Calvary Chapel Corvallis. I love being with the high-schoolers and feeding them the word of God. In July of 2002 my wife and I were married. She is an excellent help in my ministry and a tremendous encouragement. The newest blessing in our marriage is that Lindsey gave birth our first child Russell Kenneth Rodgers on February 1, 2007. We are super excited about this newest addition to our family and can’t wait to experience all that God has for us in being parents. I give God all the glory for all the He has done in my life and intends to do through both my family and I.
