About Calvary Corvallis

Chief Responsibilities:

Women’s Ministry Leader and Office Manager

Bio:

The Lord got a hold of Cindy’s heart as a young child through her godly father. During her years at OSU a passion for God and His word was set on fire. The Lord led Cindy to start a Bible study in the sorority where she lived. At the same time she became a Young Life leader commuting to Salem. Her junior year in college she met Russ, the husband and father of their three children. This little college coed really began her education in her first fourteen years of marriage that was spent on a large cattle ranch driving tractor (praying) and vaccinating thousands of head of cattle.

They returned to Corvallis so Russ could fulfill his dream of becoming a veterinarian. During this process he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease and an eight year battle with cancer began. During this time they were introduced to Calvary Corvallis, their first experience with a church that taught the full counsel of the Word of God. Upon Russ’s graduation they moved to Lakeview, Oregon where they started their own Mixed Animal Vet Clinic. They had the joy of working together and seeing the Lord bless their business before Russ passed away. During her years as a young widow Cindy saw the incredible faithfulness of God and learned how to have joy in the midst of suffering.

Cindy’s oldest daughter Heather is the Administrator for the House of Charis and on staff with Calvary Corvallis’s college ministry. Rory, her son is the senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Crook County, and her youngest daughter Rosalie and husband Jens lead a Calvary House Church.

Originally Pastor Rob called Cindy to come on staff as the Office Manager and within five months she was invited to lead the Women’s Ministry. She has discovered that teaching the Women’s Bible Study and overseeing Calvary’s ministry to the women of the church is one of her great delights.
